OUTRAGE W LEAGUE SIDE ADDS TALENT TO ROSTER

Kalamazoo, MI – March 30, 2010 -- The Kalamazoo Outrage W league team announced today the signing, pending USL approval, of 7 players to the 2010 squad.

Kellie Walker (Western Kentucky University): Originally from Novi Michigan, Kellie led Novi High School to two Division 1A state championships. At WKU, Kellie was named the 2009 Sunbelt Conference Player of the Year as a senior, and was twice named to the Sunbelt Conference First Team. She was a 2009 NSCAA Scholar All-American and will add experience and maturity to the 2010 Outrage roster.

Annie Steinlage (Spring Lake High School): A defender from Spring Lake High School, Annie is #74 on Top Drawer Soccer’s list of top 2010 recruits, and also #6 in the Great Lakes Region. Committed to play at Michigan State University, Annie attended the ODP National Camps in 2008 and 2009. A member of the Michigan Hawks Club, Annie was the 2009 Gatorade High School Player of the Year in Michigan. Annie will add stability to the center of the field for the Outrage.

Megan Murphy (Washington State University): Originally from West Anchorage Alaska, Murphy was a nominee for the 2008 Gatorade High School Player of the Year in Alaska. She is an athletic midfield player and should also help the Outrage solidify its midfield this season.

Val Prause (Central Michigan University): A Senior midfielder for the Chippewa, originally from Mentor, Ohio.  Val was a 2009 First Team All Mid-American Conference Selection, starting all 24 matches in the midfield for a team that reached the second round of the NCAA tourney before falling to Notre Dame. An experienced W-League player (Cleveland Internationals), Val will bring control and composure to the Outrage midfield.

Kaely Schlosser (Forest Hills Central High School): A senior from Forest Hills, Michigan, Kaely has committed to play at Central Michigan University in 2010. She was a 2009 Michigan High School Dream Team member and a 5 year member of the Michigan Olympic Development State Team. Kaely was also a standout defender for the Outrage in 2009. The coaching staff is expecting Kaely to strengthen the Outrage defense, while perhaps being an attacking option in the midfield.

Ashley Caliendo (Western Michigan University):  A Senior center back and team captain in 2009, Ashley appeared in all 19 contests for the Broncos, leading them to 6 shutouts.  Originally from Darien, Illinois, Ashley will add plenty of experience and knowledge to the center back position for the Outrage.

Katie Walker (Western Kentucky University):  From Novi Michigan, Katie teamed with her sister at WKU – playing in all but 5 matches in her 4 year career. A defender and wide midfield player, Katie was voted WKU’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2009.  The Outrage Staff is excited to have Katie’s experience and knowledge this season.
