Oatley Scores Two in Outrage Win
Mon, Jun 15th, 2009
The Kalamazoo Outrage men's soccer team won its fifth consecutive game, downing the Indiana Invaders 3-1 Friday night at Loy Norrix High School. Leading by a goal with five minutes left, a defensive lapse by the Outrage allowed Indiana's Saidi Isaac to even the score. One minute later, Kalamazoo (6-0-2) struck back with a goal from Eric Brodfuehrer, and Tom Oatley added his second goal on the night a couple minutes later to cap the scoring.
"The guys gave me a scare tonight, but when they scored that goal we went to a whole other level," Outrage coach Mark Spooner said. "I've always believed that good teams win even when they're not playing well, and we're a good team."
Oatley's two goals give him 10 in seven games, which leads the Premier Development League.
